To use the gateway you are required to have a 2Sell or 2Subscribe account with 2Checkout. If you wish to offer recurring downloads (subscriptions) then your account should be 2Subscribe, otherwise, pick 2Sell.

If you use the off-site purchase processing and direct all customers to the 2Checkout site to complete the purchase, all sensitive information is handled on the secure 2Checkout servers, so no SSL certificate is required but it’s recommended.
