Unlike MANY other plugins and themes, EDD provides helpful and timely customer support. I even got to chat directly with Pippin himself on a few occasions – and God knows he’s a busy person! Since EDD’s code is nearly bug-free, my inquiries mostly had to do with customization questions which were satisfactorily and timely answered.

After trying various e-commerce plugins to sell digital products and subscriptions on multiple websites, we decided to give EDD a try. It’s been 5 years, and we never looked back. In comparison to other e-commerce plugins, EDD is lightweight, stable, fast, straightforward to use, and has one of the richest add-on environments available on WordPress.
EDD allows us to use the Software Licensing Add-On to update the plugin across all of our clients. It integrates with Stripe, creates an account for our clients and manages all the day to day tasks we would need to hire two people for.
We’re using EDD as a way to offer Support. Our service has a downloadable plugin each support customer must activate after they sign up with us. EDD allows us to rename the slug (products) and name it whatever we want. I love that hook! EDD allows us to overwrite templates in order to meet our demands. I love that EDD is easy to update. Nothing really to worry about.
As a novice WordPress developer, EDD was the best option for our web redesign. It works great with the Generate Press theme and the Beaver Builder page builder. After learning the product “download” setup and short codes, we quickly had our inventory of software, services and bundles added to our pages. I tried other eCommerce software during my development and testing, but they were much too complicated to setup, configure and add to layouts. EDD is the perfect eCommerce plug-in for downloads or services.
We needed a way to capture additional data from our purchasers such as end user information, previous license information for authorizing upgrades, and a generic comments field. The EDD Checkout Fields Manager was the best way to add these data fields to our checkout process.
