Stripe Payment Gateway Now Supports Stripe Checkout
Our Stripe.com payment gateway has just been updated to version 2.0 and now includes support for the Stripe Checkout purchase flow.
The Stripe Checkout system allows you to embed a credit/debit card form directly onto your product page, allowing your customers to complete their purchase without ever leaving the page. It greatly simplifies the purchasing process, increasing the likelihood of your customers successfully completing their purchase.

Enabling Stripe Checkout for your products is as simple as setting the Button Behavior option in the Download Edit screen to Buy Now:

When can we expect to get the update? I currently have EDD 2.1.7 and Stripe Payment Gateway 1.8.9.
The update is already available, though it could take up to 24 hours for it to show up in your WordPress Dashboards. If it doesn’t, the update is also available from your account page.

One question, though. If the Stripe Payment Gateway bypasses the checkout screen… the user cannot create an account, right? So all the purchases will be registered as “guest” unless he was already signed in?
If they are already signed in, it will be attributed to their account, otherwise it will be a guest purchase.
If you want all customers to have accounts, you could use the EDD Auto Register plugin with Stripe Checkout: https://wordpress.org/plugins/edd-auto-register/
I already have that extension. So it works with Stripe Checkout? Nice! What happens if a user who is not logged in (but he is already a user) make a purchase with his email? Does it get attributed to his account?
